We
waited so
long for
this day
Baby
#2 is
finally on
their way!

We
are expecting
A
new bundle
of joy
Nov 16th,
2007
After an almost 3 year wait we got the happy news that we were expecting baby
# 2 on Jenn's 34th birthday! We had a 5 week (see above) US confirming a healthy
pregnancy one week later. 2 weeks later we went back for another US and
saw the heart beating at 142 beats per minute. The following week and
looking more like a baby the heart was beating at 162. We had our first OB
appointment on May 3rd and heard the heartbeat on the Doppler in the 150's.
On May 11th we had a nuchal translucency US (genetic screening-see above)
indicating the nuchal fold was 1.24mm putting us at low risk for Down Syndrome
heart beating at 157. We chose to skip the rest of the genetic screening.
The baby was very active doing flips and generally bringing smiles to our face.
We went public with our news starting on May 13th (Mother's Day).

Mommy's growing tummy 14 weeks 5 days
-
week 16 week OB appointment Mommy's BP was 104/62 dipstick check looked
fine and there was a 1/2 lb weight gain. The only measurement they did for
the baby was heart rate which was somewhere in the 140's. Overall it was a
pretty uneventful appointment and more time was spent going over the
money side of stuff. Have to wait 5 weeks for
the next appointment due to the doctors schedule. Can feel this baby
getting more and more active even a couple kicks from the outside once in
awhile.
18 weeks 1 day
JJ found out he is going to be a big brother. He saw some of the many
scans of this little one and told us that it was him - when he was inform that
was the new baby in mommy's tummy he was smiling from ear to ear! He went around
the next day holding the scan singing "come out baby" over and over again.
Its going to be a long wait until Nov!

Good thing we are members of Team
Green! Even if we wanted to know gender the umbilical cord was between the
baby's legs (note the crossed legs as well). All of the baby's parts were
there and measuring correctly including a 4 chamber heart, functioning kidney's
etc. The baby looks totally different in profile then Jadon did and was
measuring 19 w 2 d (2 days ahead) weighing in at a whopping 10 oz. Heart
rate today was 164. Jadon is guessing Boy,
Dave is guessing Girl - guess we will see in Nov!
Although we don't know gender we do
know what baby J's future name will be:
Girl --> Jocelyn
Eliana Bjurman-Birr
OR
Boy --> Jarrett
Dawson Bjurman-Birr
- 21weeks everything is status quo. Measuring correct for dates, BP and
Urine tests were fine. Gained 5lbs in the last 5 weeks (hope that trend
doesn't keep up). Baby's heartbeat was in the 150's. Dr ordered a
blood screen on my thyroid as it hasn't been done in awhile and I have been so
tired the last couple weeks. Said she will order a US for my next OB
appointment to ensure my and the baby's growth. Other than that she added
one more pill to my regimes so I lost the baby aspirin last week and gain
DHA-Lipil (sometime that is suppose to help baby brain development - that they
actually add to baby formula). I will have to add a new belly pic from the
last few weeks.
23 weeks today and we got to see our baby in 3D and in color! This US
isn't a diagnostic scan rather more for our viewing entertainment. Check
out some of the many pictures that we got! We are going back for part 2 in
6 weeks (@ 29 weeks pregnant). Oh yeah, I added some belly pics from this
past week at all. I feel huge but people keep telling I'm tiny and can't
believe I'm almost 6 (lunar) months pregnant!
22 weeks 5 days

25 weeks today got to the OB office to find out that my OB was called away for
emergency surgery - Of course they knew about this in the morning but didn't
bother calling - they finally agreed to let me she a midwife instead of
rescheduling me. Here are the stats as of today, mommy gained 0 lbs since
last visit (which surprised me), Baby's heart rate was in the 150's, baby is in
the transverse position and I'm measuring just a tad small. Next
appointment is Aug 24th (the start of the 3rd trimester) and from there every 2
weeks. TSH came back normal so no change in Synthroid, now scheduled for a
routine CBC and glucose test along with my monthly US. Took some
more belly pics today or rather Jadon did - posted below!

Wet Baby contest - hit by a water balloon right in the belly 25 weeks 1 day!
28 weeks today - Had another US today. Baby is measuring one whole week
ahead at 29 weeks although I'm physically measuring at exactly 28 weeks.
Baby is firmly head down with spine facing out. Fluid was low normal and
cervix length was 2.9 (anything above 2.5 is normal). I gained 3/4lb in
the last 3 weeks. Baby's heartrate was in the 140's. BP was 100/60
and normal urine. Found out I past the Gestational DM test with a score of
112 (anything below 136 is considered passing). Will post the couple US
pictures soon along with some new belly pics. Next appointment is in 3
weeks (including an US) due to my doc going to Mexico which is fine because we
are leaving for Hawaii next week
.
27 weeks 2 days
What a difference 2 weeks makes 29 wks 2 days
Brotherly love 29 wks 3 days
Baby's first trip to Hawaii 29 wks 4
30 weeks and 6 days today - Had yet another US today. Baby is measuring in
the 63% which means still big for dates. Mommy is measuring small for
dates. Fluid is getting really borderline low and it was discussed that
they may induce at 37 weeks (6 short weeks from now) if this doesn't
improve. Jadon was low fluid as well - so this may just be normal for me.
Anyway Doctor will see me in 2 weeks again with another US and I may start every
week monitoring at that time if fluid levels are at this level. Mommy
gained 3.25 lbs in the last weeks bringing the total up to 10lbs - Doctor
wants 25lbs which I don't think I'm going to make it considering I'm eating
totally normal and eating ice-cream; sometimes twice a day! BP
102/60 so status quo there. I'm happy to report no swelling currently
(although I did have some in Hawaii - mostly on the plane) and I still can wear
my rings! I was so swollen at this point with Jadon I couldn't wear shoes
(sandals let huge pressure marks and so I was reduced to slippers and rings were
long gone). Baby has remained head down and is folded like an "L" feet are
over to the right side of mommy's belly (baby's foot was already measuring over
2" long - guessing going to take after mommy's side of the family and have some
flipper feet). We received some more US pictures but they are getting
harder and harder to make out what they are - even for an obsessed crazy
pregnant women, but I will post them anyways. That's it for now if we take
anymore belly pics I will be sure to post them. Next update Sept 27th!
32 weeks 6 days today. Went back to the US machine again. I didn't
get any pictures this time - it wouldn't matter its way too hard to figure out
what is what in there now. They basically check my fluids which are
holding at 8 (the lowest normal range) and cervix is nice and long at 3.4.
Baby is still growing well - about a week ahead and still in its L shape that
"he" seems to like. Sometimes that little butt is sticking out so much
that you can literally give it a little love tap - but man when "he" does that
its not a pleasant sensation. Baby is still moving and grooving basically
having a little party in there - so much so that the US tech person made a
comment about the amount of moment. HR was 142 during the US. Then I
got to see the doctor. First words were I'm not happy that your fluid
didn't go back up. So from now on I get to go weekly and have NST
(non-stress tests to ensure a happy baby), US, and visits with her. Mommy
lost a pound from 2 weeks ago - again not trying; but running after 4 kids
(Jadon plus 3 foster kids) apparently does not help pack on the pounds. My
BP was a tad bit high for me but totally normal overall at 124/72. Trying
to schedule a girls spa day out for Oct 6th to get some relaxation in prior to
Oct madness and ultimately another little one in a couple weeks. (Dave and
Jadon's birthday, along with Halloween and a potential induction at 37 weeks
(last week in Oct). My next appointment is Oct 1st will update more than.
33 weeks 3 days today - WOW I can say I'm due next month. Where did the
time go? I'm experiencing a lot of pubic bone pressure especially when I
first get up to walk. Something I always forget about and then get up as
fast as I can at this stage and then bam I'm instantly reminded. Back pain
is ok if I get Dave to rub my back every couple of days. I keep thinking
both kinds of pain should go away when I wake up in the morning - but alas its
still there. Baby J continues to move a lot at night especially right
around 9pm and 3 to 5 am. Haven't posted a picture in awhile hopefully
soon - I think I have been behind the camera more than in front of it lately! At
the appointment mommy's fluid level came in at 7.9 down just a tad HR was in its
typical 136-152 range, BP was fine at 110/70, and baby was moving just fine on
the NST test. Oh yeah, mommy gained 2lbs - must be due to all the dunkin
doughnuts and icecream she ate over the weekend (not the diet stuff either - we
are talking Cold Stone and McFlurries here) Doctor said still not happy with
fluid levels as it makes her nervous but won't plan an induction unless levels
goto 5. Baby and Mommy are getting anxious to meet face to face! Next
appointment is scheduled for Oct 8th!
